Day X - Fun Aspen Day Out!

In keeping with our true Glenwood Springs theme, we woke up today and generally took it pretty easy.  Ryan handled some boring work stuff and then we finally made the decision that we should definitely follow through and go to Aspen today!

We weren't really sure if the busses would all work out logically, but it ended up going pretty good!  The bus to Aspen was amazing, with some epic views on the drive up.  It was worth the trip in itself!

After getting into Aspen, we were dropped off at the center of town, which had a big park in the middle of it, which, at least at this point in time, was being used as an epic park for epic-ass dogs to play in the snow.  It pretty much took all of our effort to leave that area because....   well...  Duh.  If that doesn't make sense to you, I am not sure why you're reading our writing anyway.  Anyways, it was freakin awesome!

After some more quick snowball fights, we went into a local pub called the Red Onion and got some really expensive beers there.  Naturally they hid the prices so we wouldn't know until after we got the bill how much everything was going to cost, but ya, I mean, Aspen, so we probably should have assumed the worst.

We walked up to the bottom of the ski slopes and sat down at a pretty cool restaurant outside and had a nice meal there as the sun set over the snowy mountains.  After that we walked downtown looking for a cool souvenir shop, and we found what seemed like the biggest souvenir shop we had ever been in, Carl's Pharmacy.

After checking out the seemingly millions of things they had, we went out and decided to give the Red Onion a second chance.  We went in, and this time, cleverly enough, asked them if they had any specials.  Much smarter decision.  We got a pitcher of beer and after talking to a few locals and an amazing guide dog, we decided it was time to head back to our place in Glenwood Springs.

A quick, yet totally awesome, day-trip to Aspen.  Can't really complain!  We went back to Glenwood Springs, and yup, you guessed it, stopped by the Glenwood Springs Brew Pub for a quick beer (and maybe a shot or two) before heading back home to our hotel for one last night in Glenwood Springs.
